Gluten free beer?
Who would have thought our quest to create a cleaner, crisper tasting beer would have taken us down a path no-one has travelled, but here we are – and we’re proud of it. It took over five years of experimentation and refinement to perfect the brew, which uses 100% rice instead of the standard wheat or barley, resulting in a gluten free beer unlike any other.
Hahn SuperDry GF was certainly worth the wait. Hahn SuperDry GF is the next generation of beer that is brewed with no gluten containing ingredients, making it entirely gluten free and the first beer of its kind that we know of. Better yet, we’ve even maintained the core traits of a lower-carb Hahn beer that many Australians have come to know and love.
Why produce a gluten free beer?
With over six million Australians restricting gluten from their diet to some extent, we wanted to create a beer as a suitable choice for those leading a gluten-free lifestyle. Many adults had given up on having a cold beer with a mate or being able to take a six-pack along to a barbecue to share – so we’ve jumped on board the gluten free train.
How is it different from other gluten free beers already available?
As we’ve alluded to, Hahn SuperDry GF is a revolution in the gluten free beer market. Most others are brewed from other gluten free grains such as sorghum or millet, but we use rice to produce a cleaner and crisper tasting lager.
How have you ensured it’s 100% gluten free?
Gluten free standards in Australia are strict and we certainly know it. So we’ve produced Hahn SuperDry GF with no gluten-containing ingredients and brewed it with a clean gluten-free process. If you’re still not convinced, the beer undergoes thorough testing to ensure no detectable gluten is present.
Is this beer certified by any gluten free or coeliac organisations?
Hahn SuperDry GF is created using a ground-breaking brewing process five years in the making, and we’re proud to say the crisp lager is endorsed by Coeliac Australia. This means it’s certified as gluten free and appropriate for those with coeliac disease or leading a gluten-free lifestyle.
